Director of Sales and Marketing
American Kuhne, one of the companies of The Graham Group, headquartered in York, Pennsylvania, has an immediate opening for a Director of Sales and Marketing to join our American Kuhne team. American Kuhne, is a leading worldwide supplier of standard and customized single screw extruders, feed screws, and extrusion systems which are designed, developed, tested and manufactured in our headquarters in Ashaway, RI.

This position functions as the Sales leader for American Kuhne and will report into the President of the company. The Director of Sales and Marketing will manage, direct and lead the execution of all sales and marketing plans and initiatives for American Kuhne other than the Medical Market. The Director will establish sales targets to meet company objectives and is ultimately responsible for the in-house sales team plus all outside company and independent sales representatives. In addition, the Director of Sales and Marketing will work closely with the American Kuhne VP Medical Systems and the Graham Engineering sales and marketing teams.
The successful individual will be expected to effectively lead and manage all sales and marketing initiatives and develop new strategies and approaches to drive enhanced sales opportunities, product innovation, and new market penetration. The Director of Sales and Marketing will need to be an effective communicator and leader able to positively lead and inspire the sales organization. The individual will also be expected to conceive and implement sales process and system improvements and new product innovation where appropriate. The candidate should have a proven track record in implementing sales plans, monitoring sales growth and marketing effectiveness while managing sales budgets and performance metrics and achieving financial obligations. The Director of Sales and Marketing will work closely with all departments in support of the company’s strategic and functional plans. Other key attributes include the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment and the ability to work outside of the core functional area and participate in driving the overall capital machinery business across multiple plant locations within the Graham Engineering group of businesses.
The qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in Sales/Marketing, and/or Business Administration with a degree in Engineering desirable. Advanced Engineering degree or MBA a plus. A minimum of 10 years in a Sales Manager or Representative position with a plastics processing capital equipment manufacturing company with a proven sales record and exposure to international sales is expected. Extrusion technical experience is preferred.
