American Kuhne, is a leading worldwide supplier of standard and customized single screw extruders, feed screws, and extrusion systems which are designed, developed, tested and manufactured in our headquarters in Ashaway, RI.

This position involves working in a team environment with sales, marketing and operations to provide high quality extrusion equipment and services to our customers worldwide.  The primary role of the inside sales position is to coordinate all phases of the sales cycle including lead qualification, communications with customers to review their requirements, generation of proposals, follow up on proposals, and the completion of paperwork in support of products sold. 

Required skills for this position include 2+ years’ experience in sales, working with customers.  Proficient verbal and written communications, experience using MS Word, Excel and Outlook, strong organizational skills and demonstrated skill in developing relationships with customers are also requirements for this position.

Designer/Engineer

This position involves working in a team environment along with sales and operations to provide high quality extrusion equipment and services to our customers worldwide.  The primary role of this position is to interpret sales specs, customer ideas and engineering processes in order to design extruder parts, extruders and systems within SolidWorks, AutoCad and Visual Manufacturing.  Communication is important as this position will be working with vendors to clarify design ideas and answer questions about AK designs, management to work on new designs/processes, customers to understand expectations about AK supplied equipment, sales and manufacturing to make sure we deliver what the customer wants with the highest possible quality.

 

Required skills for this position include up to10 years’ experience in machine design/engineering, Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or technical/vocational school degree.  Excellent verbal and written communications, proficient in the use of various computer software including AutoCad, SolidWorks, MS Office, strong organizational skills and detail oriented.
